I used to call it "nu rave".

I used to call it "indie" and even NU RAVE.

It started around 2004 and to me ended in 2010. The next tumblr, sad boys/girls, 2012's aesthetic wouldn't fit into this whole mess.

I think "indie sleaze" is just as an aesthetic, not an attitude or a music style.

I'm hoping once this generation get tired of partying (those around 20 and 28), leave the nightlife and let their younger brothers have THE REAL INDIE, because: they will be TIRED of current music and its algorhythms (trap, reggaeton, dark techno). and they will seek to listen at LIVE bands again. some of them will be so fkn tired of everyone wanting to be the next super famous"artist" or "influencer" that they will be ok with having photos stoned, puking, and not possin again.

I really hope that is the close future, i'm betting on it, and if otherwise, i don't think future fashion/art/music scene will have absolutely nothing new to give.

Maybe, human creativity and free spirit ended with the indie era, that's why since 2010 EVERYTHING tries to hit nostalgia, its a cover, a remake, a spin off or anything from the past, except anything new.

Dissapointing gen, they have all the tools to create, but they all repeat the same cheap "trying to be edgy" shit. either in music, photo, video. Or they are just trying to get as many possible likes by following trends, algorythmhs and using 23 neon led lights and crazy camera moves, in vertical videos.

Maybe we; the millenials, were the last human generation that gave real artists to the world. Maybe time for humanities has come to and end and all that remains is death internet, AI, and one week lasting trends...
